This year, we run and walk with heavy hearts and deep gratitude as we honor Tom del Pino, a proud FDNY firefighter, 9/11 survivor, and an extraordinary man whose life embodied service, loyalty, and friendship.
Tom answered the call on September 11, 2001, and like so many heroes, he carried the weight of that day with him long after the smoke cleared. Tragically, Tom succumbed to a 9/11-related illness in September of last year. His passing is a profound loss to his family, friends, and to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tom was an integral part of the Pike County Tunnel to Towers Foundation 5K since its inception in 2017 and a steadfast supporter of the Foundation for many years before that. He believed deeply in the mission—to honor the sacrifice of our first responders and military heroes and to care for the families they leave behind.
If you met Tom, he was your friend.
If you knew him, you loved him.
His warmth, generosity, and unwavering support for others left a lasting impact on everyone around him. This year, we dedicate our steps to Tom—to remember his courage, his kindness, and his lifelong commitment to serving others.
Please consider supporting Team del Pino as we run, walk, and raise funds in Tom’s honor. Together, let’s ensure his legacy lives on through the mission he cared so deeply about.
Let’s run. Let’s walk. Let’s honor Tom del Pino.
